I am a Norwegian-Chinese therapist with clinical experience from Hong Kong and Singapore, where I have helped adults and teens in both private practice and international schools settings.
Born and raised in Norway within a Chinese family and having worked across Asia, Europe, and the USA, I bring a unique cultural awareness to my work. I appreciate the complexity of cross-cultural relationships and understand that navigating these is an ever-evolving learning journey. I collaborate closely with my clients, seeing them as experts on their own lives.

Interviews in the media:

Expat Living: Guiding teens and parents through change through counselling
A passionate advocate for wellbeing and work-life balance, I have delivered talks/workshops on mental health and work-related topics in various corporate and educational settings:
In Singapore: GESS International School, Bang & Olufsen, the Norwegian Business Association in Singapore (NBAS), Norwegian Seamen's Mission (Sjømannskirken)
In Hong Kong: The University of Hong Kong, St. James Place, Benoy, Cedar Communications, The Hive, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
I currently work as a counsellor in private practice, where I specialise in supporting adults, teens and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Before this, I was a school counsellor at an international high school in Hong Kong. Working with students from over 40 different nationalities and supporting both parents and staff, I witnessed up close how it really does "take a village to raise a child", and how pivotal it is that the adults in that village are also well supported.
Counselling is my second career, and my path into counselling wasn't a straight one. My first career was in higher education, where I spent a decade in humanities education and research. I taught cultural, film and literary studies for many years at The University of Hong Kong and later, at The University of Oslo. I have also had the privilege of conducting research as a Fulbright Scholar at UC Berkeley and the University of Washington, Seattle. This background continues to enrich my understanding of human psychology. For one, I am still endlessly fascinated by the many ways that cultural values, social norms, gender roles and other social factors affect how we think, feel and behave.
I have also spent time running my own career coaching business in Hong Kong, working with professionals one-on-one and through professional workshops. This gave me a close-up view of the pressures faced by people working across a range of sectors, including the law, education, technology, finance, maritime and non-profit sectors.
